The event aims to mark the 36th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20).
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do stressed that the country’s education and training sector has reached great achievements over the past 70 years, and contributed to the nation’s construction and protection.
He highly appreciated the effort and creativity of teachers in overcoming difficulties to provide knowledge and skills to students in rural, mountainous and remote areas.
The Ministry’s leaders recognized the dedication of teachers and educational officials, and hoped that they would make even more achievements and promote traditional characteristics of the Vietnamese teacher to contribute to the education and training renewal process.
On behalf of typical teachers, Ms. Le Thi Loi, a teacher of Ngo Sy Lien Secondary School in Hanoi said that teachers always improve and renew teaching and learning methods in transferring knowledge to students and take care of their comprehensive development of morality and personality as well as provide students with the knowledge and habits necessary to be good citizens.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do and chairman of the National Education Union of Vietnam Vu Minh Duc presented certificates of merit to 183 outstanding teachers in the country in 2018.
