The People’s Committee of the Mekong Delta province of Long An yesterday afternoon hosted a ceremony to start work on the second bid package of a 12.8 kilometers road project, connecting Highway 50 with Long An International Port.

The project comprising seven bridges will be the link-up of Tan Lap street, Long Hau street, Highway 50 and Long An Port.
Investment capital is estimated to approximate VND1,495 billion (US$66 million). Of these, the state budget will spend VND900 billion and the remaining amount will be raised from businesses.
The project includes two bid packages. The first one will construct five kilometers Tan Lap-Long Hau stretch with six bridges, expected to start construction in May with the total cost of VND1 trillion.
The second package will build seven kilometers Highway 50-Long An Port section with one bridge within one year.
Investment funds is about VND550 billion and contractor is Quang Tien company.
Tan Lap-Long Hau-Highway 50-Long An Port project locates in Provincial Road 830 running through Duc Hoa, Ben Luc, Can Duoc and Can Giuoc districts in Long An.
The route plays an important traffic role in promoting plans’ effectiveness and implementing ports, industrial parks and urban and tourist areas projects in Long An.
Highway 50 runs from HCMC, through the Mekong Delta province of Long An and ends in Tien Giang.
