Welcome concert for Governor-General of Australia

The Sunwrae String Quintet from Melbourne will perform in a concert on May 12 at the opera house in Ho Chi Minh City to welcome the Governor-General of Australia, Quentin Bryce and her spouse to Vietnam.

The Quintet is part of the Melbourne based nu-chamber group “Sunwrae Ensemble”. They will be performing along with some Vietnamese artists.

The Governor-General of Australia, Quentin Bryce and her spouse will be on a State visit to Vietnam from May 5 -14. The visit of the governor-General is in response to an invitation by the State President Nguyen Minh Triet and his wife.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vietnam made this announcement on May 3.

Members of the Sunwrae String Quintet are Rae Howell -piano, Rachael Kim-violin, Zachary Johnston-violin, Phoebe Green-violin and Tim Blake- cello. Their album releases include “Never Stop to Wait” in 2005, funded by Arts Victoria and the Australian Council. They also have live concert CDs & DVDs from the “Eavesdropping Concert & Art Exhibition Series” from 2003-2007, “Autumn Never Falls” in 2009, “Live at the Thorn bury Theater” in 2010 and “Heavy Forest Air” in 2011.
