Shares of 304 companies and five mutual funds listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange erased 0.09 per cent, or 0.4 points, to close at 428.8 points with 101 stocks surging, 142 losing, and 66 remaining unchanged.

Trading on the city bourse improved by nearly 50 per cent in volume, and 81.5 per cent in value over the previous trading session as more than 72.17 million shares changed hands at a total value of VND1.32 trillion.

Sao Mai Construction Corporation (ASM) was the most active share in volume with 1.71 million shares changing hands.

Hoa Sen Group (HSG) was runner-up with 1.54 million shares.

Tan Tao Investment Industrial Joint Stock Company (ITA) ranked third with 1.53 million shares traded.

Hoa Binh Construction & Real Estate Corporation (HBC) plummeted 53.78 per cent to close at VND16,500. The company will pay dividends to its current shareholders in cash at a ratio of 10 per cent, by shares at a ratio of 20 per cent, and give bonus shares at a ratio of 1:1 on July 10.

Transport Engineering Construction & Business Investment Joint Stock Company 584 (NTB), Petro Vietnam Low Pressure Gas Distribution Joint Stock Company (PGD), Sao Vang Rubber Joint Stock Company (SRC), and Post & Telecommunications Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company (PTC) weakened 5 per cent to close at VND5,700, VND34,200, VND15,200, and VND9,500 respectively.

Tan Tien Plastic Packaging Joint Stock Company (TTP) sank 4.93 per cent to close at VND32,800.
 
Dong Nai Port Joint Stock Company (PDN) rose 5 per cent to close at VND21,000.

Vegetable Oil Packing Joint Stock Company (VPK) escalated for six consecutive trading sessions, speeding up 4.96 per cent to close at VND14,800.

BaRia Thermal Power Joint Stock Company (BTP) resurrected 4.92 per cent to close at VND6,400.

The VN30 Index - a free-float adjusted, market cap-weighted index of 30 stocks with the highest market value and liquidity on the exchange – declined 1.42 points, or 0.28 per cent, to end at 505.65. Among its 30 members, 11 advancers, 13 decliners, and 5 stocks closed unmoved.

Hanoi’s HNX-Index of the smaller bourse in the north rebounded 0.39 per cent, or 0.29 points, to close at 74.36 points with 130 winners, 87 losers, and 80 stocks treading water. Around 31.43 million shares changed hands at a total value of VND315.37 billion.

Meanwhile, the UPCoM-Index of unlisted shares adjusted 0.77 per cent, or 0.28 points, to close at 36.02 points. A total of 232,250 shares changed hands at VND1.49 billion.
