Vietnamese six grader wins Silver at SASMO

Six grader Tran Linh Khoa of UK Academy (UKA) won the Silver from the Singapore and Asian School Math Alympiad (SASMO) 2018.

SASMO is one of largest math contests in Asia with more than 20,000 participants in 2017. The event is held annually to offer Math lovers a chance to compete with their peers from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Brunei, Thailand, China, Hong Kong ( China), Mongolia, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and South Korea.
SASMO 2018 attracted nearly 5,000 Vietnamese students from second to ten graders.
Tran Linh Khoa is one of excellent of UKA's students. He grabbed the first prize of “ Nha thong thai tre” (The young smart) competition held by Nguyen Hoang Corporation and participated in VTV’s show Smart Kids.
From July 27 - 31, the boy will sit for the International Junior Math Olympiad - IJMO in Thailand. IJMO, an international mathematics competition which is held annually in different countries across Asia, aims to provide an Asian platform for students to interact and compete against their worthy opponents. IJMO is the ideal platform to showcase every student’s potential and talent in math in the international math competitions arena.
