Vietnam won a gold medal at the 23rd International Informatics Olympiad held in Thailand from July 22-29, attended by 84 countries.
The gold went to Nguyen Vuong Linh, a 12th grader from the High School for the Gifted under the National University Hanoi.
The Department of Education, Tests and Accreditation said Tuesday that all four Vietnamese contestants were 12th grade students and all four won medals at the Olympiad.
Nguyen Tan Sy Nguyen from the High School for the Gifted under the National University Ho Chi Minh City received a silver.
Le Khac Minh Tue, a fellow schoolmate of Linh, won a bronze and Nguyen Hoang Yen from the same school received another bronze.
