During a reception in Hanoi yesterday, the Party leader expressed his wish that Vietnam - China relations would grow for the interests of the two countries’ peoples and for peace and development in the region and world.
Hailing the developments in ties between the two parties and countries over the years, he underscored the significance of exchanging theory and experience in socio-economic development, party building and personnel training.
He wished that the CPC led by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping would hold a successful 19th National Congress, which is slated for October this year.
Liu, who is visting Vietnam for two days, from September 18 to 19, expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese people would continue reaping greater successes in national reform and building socialism.
He affirmed that the party and state of China attached importance to developing the traditional friendship between the two parties and countries.
The guest wished to work closely with Vietnam to prepare for the Party General Secretary and President’s official visit to Vietnam and his attendance at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in November, the first foreign trip to be made by the Chinese leader following the 19th CPC National Congress.
The same day, Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and head of the Committee’s Inspection Commission held talks with the Chinese guest.
The two sides discussed measures to fully implement common agreements between leaders of the two Parties and countries, contributing to strengthening political trust and friendship, improving the efficiency of practical collaboration in diverse areas, maintaining peace and security, and properly settling the East Sea issue.
