Vietnam sends youth delegation to Japan for SEA Youth Program

Vietnam has sent a 29-member delegation to Japan to join the 38th Ship conducting the Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) to be held from October 25 to December 16.

Phan Van Mai, secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee sent his good wishes on October 24 to the delegation and hoped that they would present the best image of Vietnam at the 38th SSEAYP.

After a two week training program in Hanoi, the delegation met various criteria, including good command of English, good knowledge of ASEAN and Japanese economic, political and cultural-social achievements as well as activeness in social activities.

The delegation will present a special musical performance which will highlight the national character.

Fourteen young men and women were selected to represent Vietnamese youth for the program. These are all outstanding youth from across the country who are studying and working in various fields, such as lecturers, students, journalists, police officers, soldiers and businesses.

Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper is being represented by reporter Doan Mai Huong at the 38th SSEAYP.

The program will be conducted from October 25 to December 16 in Japan and five other countries, including The Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Vietnam. The ship is expected to arrive at Saigon Port on December 4.
