On October 2, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a fund raising gathering to collect donations for people in the Central Provinces who are facing heavy losses in the aftermath of the storm.
Vietnamese social organizations and enterprises collectively donated more than VND28 billion.
The Hanoi Fatherland Front Central Committee donated VND7 billion to people in the Central Provinces, including Quang Binh Province with VND2 billion, while Thanh Hoa , Nghe An , Ha Tinh , Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue received donations of VND1 billion each.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, called for the Vietnamese people in the country and overseas, units, social organizations as well as benefactors in Vietnam and overseas come together in supporting the people in the Central Provinces.
