Vietnam connects with ‘Trans-Eurasia Information Network-4’

On July 5, the Department of Science and Technology held an opening ceremony for ‘Trans-Eurasia Information Network-Stage 4’ in Hanoi.

TEIN- Stage 4 will link Asia with Europe and help strengthen cooperation and research in science and develop a high-speed information network between the two continents.

In 2006, Vietnam connected via TEIN-Stage 2 and continued to develop TEIN-Stage 4, which will focus on applied network development for the benefit of research and training in Asia, besides connecting with research and training organizations in 19 countries.

Through this project, Vietnam will have a better chance to participate in international research projects in fields like meteorological, grid computing, health, weather forecast and research in agriculture.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tran Viet Thanh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, affirmed that Vietnam will see much development in research via TEIN-Stage 4 in the field of science and technology.
