The central province of Khanh Hoa will receive VND1 billion while Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Dak Lak and Quang Ngai provinces each will get VND500 million from the national contribution fund to support each family that have dead, missing and injured members.
A family with dead or missing members will be sponsored with VND5 million per person and a family with seriously injured member will gain VND3 million. Families suffering loss of damaged houses and vegetables will also get assistance.
On the same day, the Vietnam Red Cross Society decided to give urgent help to storm-hit provinces in the Central. It will provide VND750 million in cash and 600 stainless steel water containers, 100 sets of equipment for house construction, two barrels of Aquatabs disinfectants to residents in Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Dak Lak.
Two task groups were sent to distribute shipments of relief in November 6 and 7.
The Society continued calling for social contributions for locals in the storm-hit districts by sending a text message campaign to support people affected by the storm. By texting “UH” to 1409, an individual can donate VND20,000 to residents in storm-hit localities.
Contributions will be spent on essential goods, repairing houses and livelihood for locals in order to help them overcome present difficulties.
The appeal has received good public response with more than 113,300 text messages or equivalent to VND2.266 billion ($99,420).
The Red Cross Society of Vietnam said that its representative and counterpart in Binh Dinh province yesterday paid visits to 27 fishermen of wrecked ship due to the storm in hospitals. Some 27 gifts each include two clothes worth VND500,000.
