Transport Minister Dinh La Thang on December 8 reviewed the progress of the ongoing construction of Noi Bai-Lao Cai Highway in the northern province of Lao Cai and the project to widen the passenger terminal at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.
The RoK's Posco Construction Company claimed that 90 percent of the project was completed and expects it to be fully completed by mid December.
In addition, the Vietnam Expressway Corporation announced that two road sections in Lao Cai Province will be opend to traffic before Lunar New Year and March 10 on Lunar Calendar respectively.
Meantime, the management board of the whole Noi Bai-Lao Cai Highway said construction was 75 percent complete and that the Highway is scheduled to open to traffic in June 2014.
Regarding the passenger terminal of Noi Bai International Airport, the management board said it would be completed by end of December. The 25,000 square meter terminal will be able to handle three million passengers every year. Total investment in the project will come up to VND500 billion (US$23.5 million).
Minister Thang has asked the project management board to accelerate the construction while ensuring both safety and quality.
