Leaders of Naval Forces Zone No. 4 chaired a welcome ceremony for the delegation.
At the reception, Lieutenant Colonel, commanding officer of the USS Coronado (LCS 4) Douglas K.Meagher briefly introduced the capabilities and duties of the ship.
He reported that the USS Coronado had completed in a littoral combat training program of the U.S Navy in combination with search & rescue in sea and humanitarian activities.
The Khanh Hoa Foreign Affairs Department said that the crew members of USS Coronado would focus on sharing army medical skills, search and rescue in sea , maritime security and workshops on maritime law with Vietnam People’s Navy.
The tournament is scheduled to last within six days.
The USS Coronado is designed a length of 127 meters, a width of 30.5 meters with maximum speed of 47 nautical mile an hour, a displacement of 2,790 tons.
And, the USNS Salvor has a length of 78 meters, a displacement of 3,280 tons and a maximum speed of 14 nautical mile an hour.
