At a meeting on socioeconomic development in the first half of this year with Thua Thien-Hue central province's leaders yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue asked that the province should put tourism and services at the top of the province's priority issues.
Chairman of People’s Committee in Thua Thien – Hue Provicne Nguyen Van Cao said that the number of newly founded businesses in H1 was 275, 3 percent higher than the same period last year with total registered capital of VND1 trillion (US$44,845,060).
Of these, FDI inflows into the province reached an estimated US$11.3 million in H1.
Despite the province’s efforts, sea environmental impacts badly affects on economic growth; it is estimated that sea impacts reduced 1 percent of the province’s development and it will have negative effects on the economy in long term.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue lauded the province’s achievements in last time especially economic re-structuring in right direction and improving investment environment. In economic-socio development orientation in the future, Mr. Hue asked the province should put tourism and service at the top of priority issues.
He also noted that the province should invest more in tourism infrastructure and create special tourist products, adding that the province must stick with the government’s circular to have breakthrough solutions in developing economic-socio & major high technologies.
The government will have the support package to the central coastal provinces which badly affected by sea environmental factor including credit policy, offering vocational training and delaying loans for farmers.
