More than 612,000 candidates from all across the country sat for the second phase of the University Entrance Examinations on July 9.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, 125 universities are taking part in the second phase of the University Entrance Examinations with 1,050 exam boards and 24,407 exam rooms.
Although around 829,861 candidates registered to participate in the second phase of the exam, only 612,237 candidates arrived to complete examination procedures on July 8. Thus, the numbers of contestants taking part in the second phase have dropped compared to the first phase.
According to the Ministry, the subject options will be changed in the exams this year. These changes will lower strain on candidates.
