Russian nationals in Vietnam will vote in their country’s presidential election in early March, under an agreement between People’s Committees in three provinces and the Russian Embassy in Vietnam.
Around 1,000 Russian nationals voted on February 29 at an official voting center set up by the Russian Embassy in Vietnam at the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Centre in Nha Trang City of Khanh Hoa Province.
The Khanh Hoa Province center is one among three other voting centers in Vietnam where Russian nationals can vote in the Russian presidential election.
Most of the Russians in Vietnam are either here are tourists or on research work.
Phan Thiet City, the capital of Binh Thuan Province, will have a voting center at an office owned by a Russian travel firm at 31 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in Ham Tien Ward. The voting center is located close to Mui Ne (Ne Cape), a well-known tourist site in Vietnam. Voting here will take place on March 2.
According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, about 6,000 Russians are presently staying in Phan Thiet City.
Russian expatriates will vote on March 4 in Vung Tau City, the capital of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, in a five-storey apartment building on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, where 1,000 Russians are currently residing. Most being employees of the Vietsovpetrol Joint Venture company.
