A month-long campaign titled ‘Red Flamboyant Soldiers for Traffic Safety’ was kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on June 9 by Nguyen Van Dua, deputy secretary of the Party Committee in HCMC, in the presence of 2,000 students and young teachers.

The campaign will run from June 9 to July 8 and is expected to draw participation of almost 20,700 local students and teachers.
The campaign will be conducted under three separate programmes. The first programme ‘Red Flamboyant Soldiers for Children’ will organise a number of activities to take care of needy children in the city.
The second programme ‘Red Flamboyant Soldiers for Traffic Safety’ will organise activities such as raising traffic safety awareness and the third programme ‘Red Flamboyant Soldiers for Training’ will provide training to students in various skills, gender knowledge, and set a forum to prevent violence in schools.
Soon after the launch of the campaign, participating volunteers kicked off activities of the campaign such as traffic safety awareness, visiting orphans in children’s homes and planting of 2,300 saplings in schools.
The campaign has been launched by the HCMC Youth Union Committee to educate youth and children to feel more responsible towards their community, society and country.
