President Truong Tan Sang today arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport in Cambodia on December 23, beginning his two-day state visit to Cambodia at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni.

Cambodian leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Royal Palace, Minister of Tourism, Head of the Protocol Department under the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and officials of the Embassy of Vietnam in Cambodia received President Truong Tan Sang and a high-ranking delegation.

The Vietnamese president will meet with King Norodom Sihamoni, offer flowers to the statue of the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk and the Independence Monument, and lay a wreath at the monument dedicating to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers in Phnom Penh.

The two sides will discuss measures to intensify bilateral cooperation in many fields, including politics, security, economics, trade and regional and international issues of mutual concern during the visit.

Vietnam and Cambodia will reach the target of US$5 billion in bilateral trade turnover by 2015, as well as focusing on tourism, telecommunications, banking, oil and gas exploration, industry, agriculture, science and technology, education, health and culture.
