Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Wednesday expressed both his support and sympathies to people in the flood hit central region and sent his condolences to families of those dead and missing.

He instructed people’s committees of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai Provinces and Da Nang City to keep safety a priority for people, especially the elderly and children, and provide maximum assistance to help the injured and to bury the dead.
He asked for relief work to continue providing food and water to people stranded and isolated by floodwaters, task officials to help people wade across rivers and flooded roads, especially where the waters were gushing under strong currents.
They should call upon youth, army and police forces to join in to help local people repair and rebuild their homes and clean up residential areas after the floodwaters recede.
Relevant ministries and departments have been instructed to supply seed, material and fertilizer to local people to resume farm cultivation and continue to closely monitor the flood situation.
