Party leader meets with Ba Dinh district voters

 

Voters from Ha Noi's Ba Dinh District expressed their concerns over current issues facing the country, including education quality and low pay, in a meeting with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in the city yesterday, Sep 28th.

 

The meeting was organised before the second session of the 13th National Assembly, scheduled to open later next month.

 

Voter Vu Trong Hot from Truc Bach Ward suggested proper compensation policies for families affected by site clearance.

 

He said those affected should be duly compensated and helped to find jobs.

 

He also expressed his concern over wasteful land and water use.

 

Voter Vu Huu Dinh from Trung Truc Ward said he was happy to see the newly-elected leaders had been addressing hot issues such as price management and interest rates.

 

In terms of education, Truc was concerned about the paradox of school shortages and poor quality education with the high rate of good schools and excellent students.

 

He said calling for people to subsidise education was necessary, but detailed regulations were needed to avoid overcharging, particularly during times of high inflation.

 

Additionally, education reform should be done carefully to ensure comprehensive education for children, he added.

 

Voter Tran Xuan Thieu from Quan Thanh Ward was more concerned about slow pay increases for State employees and dwindling pension funds while the cost of consumer goods continued to rise.

 

He also suggested that law enforcement needed to be stepped to combat the rising crime rate.

 

Voter Phan Duc Thuyen from Kim Ma Ward asked the National Assembly to enhance its supervision to ensure policies and legal documents were correctly and effectively implemented.

 

He stressed the need to clarify who should bear the responsibility if State-owned corporations operated at a loss.

Other voters voiced their concerns over rampant corruption and the ineffective allocation of talented officials.

 

Party leader Trong thanked the voters for their ideas and suggestions and hoped that they would continue to contribute to the National Assembly.

 

Comrade Trong said that the NA session, the last one of the year, would work on many important socio-economic matters and reach crucial decisions in the midst of many economic difficulties.

 

He also affirmed the Party and Government's pledge to raise the standard of education with specific policies for teachers and schools, as well their determination in the fight against corruption.

 

On the same day, deputies of National Assembly from Hochiminh city also met with voters in district 5 and district 11.

 

Voters complained about the increase in teenage criminals; state employees’ wrong activities ; the traffic jams , transport accidents, the flooding in the city….Voters   also expressed the worrying of the effectiveness of the anti corruption campaign…and the desire that  the authorities are determined to fight against all social evils, the irresponsible attitude of a number of carders when responding to the demand of the city residents.

 

On behalf of the NA delegation, city Party Secretary Le Thanh Hai promised that  the deputies would listen to all the sincere and rightful ideas of voters and would recommend the levels of provincial authorities to timely resolve those proposals.
