Ongoing Vietwater in HCMC features technologies in waste water treatment

Ongoing Vietnam’s International Water Supply, Sanitation, Water Resources and Purification Event (Vietwater) backed by Vietnam Water Supply & Sewerage Association (VWSA) has been taking place at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) from November 6.
Vietwater Ho Chi Minh 2019 has brought customers various products and technologies from 38 different countries and territories, showcased by over 400 exhibitors on 10,000sqm exhibition space together with 15 international group pavilions including Australia, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, German, Korea , Poland, Singapore, Taiwan (China), Thailand.
The event brought customers technologies and machines specially used in waste water treatment such as: gasification technology, methods of biological treatment - mechanical - thermomechanical, recycling and effective recovery technology.
Presently, 43 wastewater treatment plants countrywide have been operational with a design capacity of 926,0000 cubic meters per day. They just treat around 13 percent of wastewater.
The shortage of wastewater treatment infrastructure is affecting living environment and it is becoming huge challenge for urban administrations in Vietnam.
According to the World Bank, Vietnam needs US$8.3 billion for drainage system in urban areas by 2025.
