Needy freshmen with high academic achievement given $171,818 scholarships

In the opening ceremony of the new school year in Van Hien University on October 30, entrepreneurs presented VND3.97 billion ($171,818) scholarships poor freshmen with high academic achievements.

On this occasion, the school was awarded the certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.
In the past academic year, the number of enrolment into the school surged by 33 percent compared to the previous year.
Moreover, 95 percent of graduates were employed with stable income and over 150 students went abroad for study as per the international education program with its counterpart in foreign countries.
Especially, nearly 100 scientific researches had been praised and lecturers’ 17 articles had been publicized in international magazines including six on ISI and SCOPUS indexed journals.
In addition to the orientation of building an open university and inviting businessmen to lecture students, the school signed memorandum with more than 200 enterprises which offer good paid employments.
At the ceremony, entrepreneurs provided VND3.97 billion to support freshmen in future study.
