Accordingly, the Mekong Delta has around 265 landside positions with total length of over 450 kilometers.

The region losses about 500 hectares of lands due to landslide a year, causing a huge loss of property and agricultural production.

River and sea bank landslides have increased in the Mekong Delta region in recent time, particular in Cho Moi district (An Giang) and Thanh Binh district (Dong Thap).
