Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications has just fined two companies which provided wrong ads for service of high school graduation mark browse and collection money for message to look up marks.
Inspectors from the Ministry have issued decisions to fine Goldsoft Company VND70 million (US$3,220) and INet Company VND70 million. In addition, the companies were asked to give back the illegal sum for collecting money from customers who sent all graduation mark searching messages to the switchboard 8702 and did not receive reply.
Last month the Ministry of Education and Training announced that only the ministry had the right to announce high school graduation results.
The two companies introduced their services on their websites which said that they would provide graduation marks to people who sent messages with student codes to the switchboard 8702. Because of burnning with impatience, many students sent messages to the switchboard but they did not receive information of their graduation marks.
SGGP reporters called to the companies, asking them about the resource of the graduation results. They said they had got information from the Ministry of Education ang Training. However the ministry confirmed that it did not provide information on graduation results to any company.
