Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited and offered gifts to children at the SOS Children's Village in the resort town of Da Lat on September 15.

The Deputy PM honored teachers for their efforts in teaching orphaned and abandoned children in the village. He emphasized that the Party and State have always shown interest in disadvantaged people and poor children.
In addition, trade unions of HCMC export processing and industrial zone authority (HEPZA) organized Mid-Autumn Festival for more than 700 disadvantaged children on September 14. The organizers also handed over 500 presents and 24 scholarships to students who overcame difficulties to study well and achieve good results. Meanwhile, HCMC Department for Ethnic Minority Affairs under the Municipal People’s Committee offered 200 gifts to kids of ethnic minority workers.
The Social Support Center under the City Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs held a Mid-Autumn Night for children who are being taken care of at the center, and gave away presents to poor children in District 8 on September 15.
On the other hand, 1,000 gifts, 570 wheelchairs, 50 scholarships and 50 bicycles worth a total capital of VND681 million were given to children at the Que Huong Humanity Center for Feeding and Teaching Disadvantaged Children in the southeastern province of Binh Duong on September 14.
Tia Sang Charity Club and Lotus Green Technology Ltd. offered 1,600 presents to disadvantaged children and families in Dinh Quan District of Dong Nai Province on September 14-15.
Kon Tum Province Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans granted about 900 gifts to Xe Dang ethnic children and best students in Dak Na Commune in Tu Mo Rong District on September 14. "Mid Autumn 2013" festival was also held. Through festival, 90 gifts were given to excellent students.
