According to the general socio-economic development plan from now until 2020 approved by the Prime Minister, the central highland province of Lam Dong will be targeted for overall development growth.

The province will have a socio-economic development strategy to develop and promote key areas for growth, including socio-economic infrastructure, irrigation and traffic systems, urban and tourism area infrastructure, high-tech agriculture, agriculture and forestry product processing units, amongst some of the targeted areas.
Da Lat is already well-known as a resort town in the central highland province of Lam Dong and has seen robust investments in various fields. The city is targeting to become one of the biggest eco-tourism centers in the region and the country by offering a variety of new entertainment, recreation and healthcare services.
The province will focus on energy, mineral processing, eco-friendly industry, wood and paper processing, agriculture and forestry products, tea, coffee, cashew nuts, vegetables and cattle feed.
The application of advanced technology in agriculture, especially in cultivating vegetables and flowers, has been on the rise.
The province has just announced 47 priority projects for irrigation and traffic infrastructure, agriculture and forestry products processing factories, tourism, schools and hospitals.
