Intel-supported program for teachers, students begins

Intel Vietnam and the Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Group (VNPT) launched the “Each Teacher – One Computer” program in Ho Chi Minh City on January 29.

The program provides teachers, students and schools in the city with low-priced laptops accompanied with Internet access ADSL services to make it faster thanks to broadband connectivity.

Under the program, laptops manufactured by Vietnamese company CMS are sold with a discount of VND800,000.

In the other hand, VNPT’s broadband service package is available with discounts of up to 80 percent for schools and 30 percent for teachers. The discounts will be applied at VNPT’s 30 retail shops and 200 agents in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the same day, VNPT presented two computer rooms to two secondary schools in the outlying districts of Cu Chi and Can Gio. Each is equipped with ten computers using Intel chips.
