Industrial Production Index (IPI) in November reduced 0.2 percent over the previous month but increased 6.4 percent over the same period last year, reported the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade.
The index was up 6.8 percent in the first 11 months this year compared to 6.1 percent a year ago.
In November, four main industrial sectors saw the index increase of 7.9 percent. Of these, food processing went up 2.6 percent, pharmaceutical chemistry and rubber hiked 5.1 percent, electronics 9 percent and manufacture mechanics 14.8 percent.
Director of HCMC Department of Industry and Trade Le Van Khoa said that the city industrial production has been on recovery trend with quite good growth rate. Many enterprises have broadened production scales, and improved their product quality and competitiveness.
Industrial production structure has moved towards the ratio increase of manufacturing and industries with high technologies and added value.
