Indian naval ship ‘Sudarshini’ docked at Tien Sa Port in the central city of Da Nang on January 1, to begin a three-day goodwill visit on occasion of 40th anniversary of Vietnam-India relations and 20th anniversary of ASEAN-India ties.
The naval ship is commandeered by Lieutenant Colonel Nshyam Sundar, and is carrying six officers and 70 sailors.
The ship has already toured 13 ports in nine Southeast Asian countries contributing towards friendship and cooperation between India and ASEAN countries, as well as for the region’s peace, stability and prosperity.
During their stay, the crew will meet with leaders of the People’s Committee of Da Nang, Navy High Command Zone and High Command Section 5, as well as play a friendly volleyball match with soldiers of Navy High Command Zone 3.
They will visit famous natural beauty spots and heritage sites like the ancient town of Hoi An, ancient capital of Hue, and Cham sculpture museum in Da Nang City.
The ship will welcome on board Vietnamese naval officers, leaders of various agencies and Indian people living in the country. Of late, Vietnam and India have intensified their cooperation in various fields, particularly defense and security.
The Indian ship will leave Tien Sa Port on January 3 and continue its tour of other countries in the region.
