Indian coast guard ship arrives in Ho Chi Minh City

Representatives of the Vietnam Maritime Police High Command, the High Command of the Military Zone 7, the Marine Police Region 3, the Vietnam Border Guard High Command, the People’s Committee of the city and the Consulate General of India were present to welcome the delegation.

The periodic visit affirms traditional solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two countries. It also opens a chance for young coastguard officers of the tow sides to exchange experience in environmental pollution prevention and search and rescue work at sea.

The Indian delegation paid a courtesy visit to HCM City leaders, the High Command of the Military Zone 7, and the Vietnam Maritime Police High Command.

They laid wreaths to commemorate to President Ho Chi Minh at Uncle Ho Statue and visit cultural and historical sites in the city.

The Indian guests will also take part in a friendly volleyball competition with soldiers of the Marine Police Region 3; and practical activities in search and rescue work at sea with the Vietnam Maritime Police.

The advanced offshore patrol vessel, Sarangis 102 meters long with a displacement of 2,000 tones, carrying two high-speed boats and one Chetak helicopter. The vessel is intended for offshore patrol duties, rescue missions and international cooperation.
