Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang paid a reception with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde at Presidential Palace in Hanoi on March 16, on the occasion of her visit and work to Vietnam.
At the meeting, the president Sang highly appreciated the assistance of IMF to Vietnam in the various fields, especially, preferential loan and policy advisory.
He affirmed that Vietnam has focused on bank restructuring projects, investment attraction and boosting further private economic development. Besides, Vietnam will convert strongly agricultural economy; therefore, Vietnam hoped IMF will continue to support Vietnam in finding preferential capital source as well as macro economic stability.
Mrs. Christine Lagarde also highly appreciated Vietnam’s development strategy towards quality and substainability. The IMF would like to continue to cooperate further with Vietnam; and pledges to support technologies for the partner in the upcoming times.
On the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung had a meeting with Mrs. Christine Lagarde, Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at Government Office.
The prime minister believed that the country will continue to develop and adopt successfully its targets that macro economic stability, average economic growth will reach at seven percent during next five years; hoping that Vietnam will receive more technical assistance, training and policy advice from the IMF.
