HCMC to invest in five waste treatment projects

The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on May 16 submitted implementation plans of five waste treatment projects to the City Party Committee for approval.

Of these, two will be mud waste treatment plants at the Da Phuoc waste treatment complex in Binh Chanh District, with total treatment capacity of 4,000-5,000 cubic meters a day.

Three toxic and industrial waste treatment plants with total capacity of 300-500 tons a day will be constructed in Phuoc Hiep waste treatment plant in Cu Chi District.

At present, HCMC has one plant to treat cesspit waste with total capacity of 100-150 cubic meters a day, a toxic waste treatment plant in Dong Thanh Commune in Hoc Mon District and some private treatment units running on outdated technology.
