Ho Chi Minh City has rushed to complete many works to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the southern region’s liberation and the country’s reunification, April 30.

A stage together with stands has been built at April 30 Park and Le Duan Street to restore lively scenes on the April 30 of 40 years back.
Streets have been decorated in the downtown area such as Le Duan, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Nguyen Du, Dong Khoi, Ton Duc Thang, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia and Pham Ngoc Thach.
Especially, Nguyen Hue walking street has been ready to welcome residents and visitors with unique architectural works.

The Department of Transport has planted more trees on pavements in Districts 1 and 3 and parks and repainted dividers in the center area.
Many roads in entrance spots to HCMC have also been improved, repaved and garnished with flowers and flags.
A fifteen minute firework display will take place on the top of the city’s tallest building Bitexco in District 1 at 10 p.m. on the Reunification Day.
