The project, earlier submitted to the committee, should accord with the city's policy of restoring street order, determine chargeable streets and areas free of charge.
The department should draw a fee exemption or reduction policy to some subjects and submit it to the city People’s Committee. Deputy chairman Le Van Khoa will supervise and instruct the project’s improvement, said Chairman Phong.
According to the Department of Transport’s draft project, individuals or organizations temporarily using pavements for parking lots, food business, night markets and some other services must pay fee.
The fee is proposed to be VD100,000 square meter a month in District 1, VND80,000 in District 3, VND30,000 in District 4 and Binh Thanh, VND50,000 in District 5 and VND45,000 in District 10.
District 11 will collect VND35,000 a square meter a month, Phu Nhuan VND40,000, District 6 and Tan Binh VND25,000. The fee will be VND20,000 a square meter a month in districts 2, 7, 8, 9, 12, Go Vap, Binh Tan, Thu Duc, Tan Phu, Hoc Mon, Nha Be, Cu Chi, Can Gio.
Parking fee will be charged on an hourly basis.
Region 1 comprising Districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, Tan Binh and Phu Nhuan will collect VND20,000 a car of less than 10 seater in daytime and VND40,000 at night. The remaining districts will charge VND15,000 in day time and VND30,000 at night.
Automobiles of more than 10 seaters will pay VND25,000 in day time and VND50,000 at night in region 1. The fee will be VND20,000 and 40,000 in the remaining districts.
