According to Phu Quoc International Airport, because of visibility and distance of approaching airways yesterday were less than 200 meters, it was impossible to receive aircrafts from other places.
Vietjet cancelled flights connecting Ha Noi/ Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc. Even flights from Phu Quoc to Hong Kong (China) and vice versa also changed departing time.
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Air Services Company (Vasco) also announced cancelation for all flights departing and landing to the Phu Quoc Airport on August 9 due to temporary closure of Phu Quoc International Airport.
Jetstar Pacific flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City/ Da Nang and Phu Quoc were also canceled. Currently, around 1,000 passengers are cancelled their journeys departing from the Phu Quoc International Airport.
Additionally, Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar announced cancellation of flights linking Cam Ranh/ Hanoi/ Ho Chi Minh City and Shanghai, connecting Da Nang and Taipei on August 10 due to newly- formed typhoon Lekima in Shanghai and Taipei.
