First FTV Show Berths with Network’s Mega-F Cruiser in HCMC

A top-twenty set of Vietnamese models and more than 50 international starlets from Fashion TV (FTV) will join together on stage in a fashion extravaganza on the Mega-F Diamond, the five-star cruise ship of the world fashion industry’s most celebrated channel, November 9 at Nha Rong Wharf, Ho Chi Minh City.

Joining the show will be two young Vietnamese fashion designers, Van Thanh Cong and Thuan Viet Cong is to present his latest collection of evening dresses, while Thuan Viet’s collections of ao dai (Vietnam’s traditional dress) are expected to charm audiences aboard.

The FTV luxury yacht arrived at HCMC after berthing at Phu Quoc Island, one of the nation’s hottest tourist spots, three days ago. Film crews and models had two days for photo ops promoting the destination to the world.

After three days in Sai Gon, the Mega-F is to sail for Thailand for the Miss FTV contest in Phuket over November 13-27. Four Vietnamese models including Vu Thu Phuong, Thanh Hoai, Ngoc Quyen and Hoang Diep will join the trip to Thailand. Winners will compete at the Grand Final to become Miss FTV at the year’s end.

The sumptuous Mega-F is a 140m long cruiser with 8 decks and over 200 luxury cabins, a relaxing spa, indoor and outdoor restaurants, discos, nightclubs, a casino, poker rooms, chill-out chambers and a stunning outdoor pool.

The ship has traveled round the world bringing visitors to tourist spots, promoting destinations and creating opportunities for models, designers and fashion firms to exchange experiences and information.

FTV has recently being paying new attention to Vietnamese fashion and tourism, last month collaborating with model BB Pham and presenting fashion designer Vo Viet Chung’s collections of ao dai.

Chung’s collection, themed Co Ba Xu Viet (Viet Lady) comprises outfits made of silk and Lanh My A (a rare traditional fabric). It was voted one of the top five showcased collections from 30 of the world’s leading designers.
