District 1 to give VND16 billion Tet gifts to 2,250 people

District 1 authorities in Ho Chi Minh City plans to allocate VND16 billion (US$ 758,833) for families who served the cause of the nation’s revolution, for a better Tet holiday season.

District 1 authorities in Ho Chi Minh City plans to allocate VND16 billion (US$ 758,833) for families who served the cause of the nation’s revolution, for a better Tet holiday season.

For celebration of Tet Lunar New Year, leaders of District 1 will allocate VND480 million (US$ 22,765) from the national budget to present gifts to 2,250 people who served in the nation’s revolution and more than VND13 billion (US$ 616,552) from the district budget for around 19,300 other people.

On occasion of Tet, district leaders will give presents to police officers, military soldiers and officers and medical workers who have to work during the Tet holidays .

Besides, young members of the District Communist Youth Union and state-run company employees will come to clean houses, decorate atlars and cook food for relatives of martyrs and policy priority families and families of those who are short of manpower.
