The Department of Education and Training in Ho Chi Minh City has announced its plan to check food safety in schools which provide lunch to students.

Specifically, managers of schools in districts 3, 5, 8, 11, Binh Thanh and Tan Binh which provide school meals to students ought to complete legal document relating to catering meals to send to the education authority in each district for the check.
Furthermore, school managers have to select products reaching GlobalGAP, ISO 22000:2005, VietGAP, HACCP, GMP...
For 18 districts which have not implemented food safety in schools, managers must ensure their food origin to eliminate poisoning.
In September, the department will set up inspection teams to check food safety in schools citywide striving that all schools provide safe school meals to students by 2020.
