Christmas is a time of fun and every corner of the city people are rushing to buy presents for the Christmas celebration. For the first time, the Central Vietnam Youth Union Association have ‘joined hands’ with Yeah1 Corporation and Fly Company, to introduce a theme park, entitled “Yeah1 Wonderland”.
The event will be held at HCMC Zoo, District 1 during the next few days, starting from Dec 24.
The park will feature a variety of entertaining fields, including: searching for the prince and princes, coffee town, wish town, carnival, firework and snow shooting and a ‘hip hop’ contest.
Three highlights of the park will be Cosplay, Adolescence celebration and Walk of Fame.
Cosplay or ‘costume play’ is a type of performance art in which participants don on costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea. Originating from Japan, the art has become popular in recent years.
Mr. Truong Son, main host of the cosplay section, revealed his plan for the stage: “This time, the cosplay show will not repeat the same things as the previous shows”
Opening with the impressive Yosakoi performance, by the HCMC Yosakoi team, the show will have some sweet melodies and a karaoke contest entitled ‘Anime No Shirabe’ (Anime’s melodies).
On the second day (December 25) there will be a special competition among the cosplayers in different categories; single, double, and team.
The stage will be transform into a play stage where the cosplayers act out their favorite anime/manga characters. Airbrush and aikido acts will also be included in the line-up.
Meanwhile, the Adolescence celebration is described as a special party to celebrate the most important moment of everyone’s life, 18 years old. Every teenager, who was born in 1992, can register for this celebration free-of-charge at the email address: ngayhoi18@yeah1.vn.
The party will begin at 2pm on Dec. 25 at the central stage. The registrants will receive a certificate for their adult status and gifts from the Association.
The Walk of Fame, originated in the U.S’s Hollywood, is a place were every teenager can to walk, speak, sing or act like their idols. They can be transform into idols like Lady Gaga, Marilyn Monroe, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears and perform the talent acts in front of judges and local celebrities.
The Wonderland will open from 6.30pm to 10pm Dec 24 and 8.30pm to 10pm Dec 25. Entrance tickets cost VND30, 000 (US$1.5) each and are available at the main offices of Yeah1: 5A Phan Ke Binh St, Dist.1 and Fly Co.: #04-02, 320 Tran Hung Dao St., Dist.1.
