The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has announced it will set up a steering committee to study and report on issues related to the sea and islands surrounding the city.
Con Dao Island situated 97 nautical miles north-west of southern Vung Tau City
It will also be tasked with developing and carrying out sea and island projects.
Under the decision, Deputy Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Trung Tin will head the Steering Committee for Sea and Islands. The committee will comprise a total of 11 members.
It will also act as an adviser to the HCMC People’s Committee in promulgating regulations for authorities to coordinate on solving problems related to sea and island issues.
