Local leaders should make efforts and coordinate with relevant agencies to help dwellers resettle and ensure their employment.

Implementation of the urban planning and resettlement policy needs high determination by the city government and citizens and specific mechanisms because the Government has no legal document on special mechanism for the city but promises.

The standing board of the committee will again listen to all problems related to downgraded apartment blocks on August 18, and find good ways to solve the problem.

District 10 has tens of 45 year old apartment blocks that have been in ruins. The district has removed 15 tenements with over 1,650 apartments since 2000 and rebuilt four new buildings supplying 947 apartments.

At present, the remaining of 25 ones has been badly damaged with 3,368 apartments.

The district People’s Committee suggested assistances from the Department of Construction to call on investors in building new apartments under the Government’s Decree 71 and give instruction to choose tenders for new apartment blocks.
