At the meeting with senior minister Teo Chee Hean, the city Party Chief recalled the good, effective strategic partnership in the multifaceted fields between Vietnam, HCMC and the island-city-country; and he proposed to discussion and signing strategic cooperation programs in planning of urban development and human resource training to meet the international standard.
According to him, HCMC desired to learn about startup experience from the partner, especially accessing to technology, calling for finance aid as well as protecting intellectual property rights for the startups.
The Singaporean Minister appreciated the good cooperation relationship between the two nations, including HCMC.
Regarding operation of startup, the minister said Vietnam should focus on protecting intellectual property rights because it is a very important issue in the forthcoming time and Singapore will set up a center for international intellectual property registration.
Mr. Teo Chee Hean welcomed the proposal of cooperation to improve creative startup capacity and said Singapore is ready to share cognitive experience, encourage and develop startup activities.
Additionally, he emphasized the importance and benefits of early foreign language education for children.
At the receipt, both sides agreed on appraising future cooperation potentialities between HCMC and Singapore in these mentioned sectors.
On the same day, the HCMC delegation met Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan.

The two countries always make efforts in building regional solidarity, economic prosperity, security stability and respect for law.
The stable, friendly and reliable relationship between the two countries, governments have contributed to strong development of trade and investment.
Minister Vivian Balakrishnan thanks for the effective assistances of the Vietnamese Government as well as the localities to Singaporean businesses and investors; and praised abundant labor forces of the country.
Mentioning the HCMC’s current challenges, the Singaporean Foreign Minister said that the urbanization was not only a challenge but also an opportunity for development unless the city has a good urban planning and development.
In order to solve the HCMC’s problems, Singapore is ready to share experiences and technology with the city in the fields of urban planning and development; to invite experts from HCMC and Vietnam to visit, learn experiences, planning technology and urban development in the island- city country.
In the educational sector, Mr.Vivian Balakrishnan shared that Singapore paid attention to vocational education activities, aiming to increase labor productivity, strengthen skills and capacity for the fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0).
Earlier, the HCMC delegation offered flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in the Asian Civilization Museum (ACM).
