The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has submitted the Government a draft circular, in which businesses may be fined VND20-50 million for late payment of wage to their workers.

Besides the penalty, businesses will have to fully pay the salary and interest on the delayed payment.
Companies paying less than minimum wage rates might be fined VND20-50 million. They will be required to give workers the difference and an extra of five month minimum salary.
They might face a VND10-25 million penalty for not building salary scale, payroll and labor norms and VND5-7 million for giving overtime and night payment less than regulated levels.
A fine of VND15-30 million will be imposed to enterprises for following regulations on severance allowance.
