The first ASEAN Traffic Police Forum was yesterday opened in Hanoi capital with the participation of 100 Vietnamese guests and delegates from ASEAN member countries, and representatives of the Association of National Police Forces of the ASEAN region (ASEANAPOL).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General To Lam said that the forum aims to strengthen further cooperation and sharing experience in ensuring traffic safety and order; and create favorable conditions for travelling border areas among member countries of the Southeast Asian Nations Association (ASEAN).
At the forum, the delegates focused on discussing and introducing organizational models, tasks, functions and competences of police forces of ASEAN countries; exchanging and supporting each other about traffic order & safety in the community, and sharing experience about coercive law for traffic implement in ASEAN community’s integration condition.
