The meeting discussed new trends in the postal field, including e-Commerce, postal logistics, money transferring services, trade facilitation, and the development of e-Commerce.
Results of APPU-EC 2018 will be critical in forming a common viewpoint for the whole Asian-Pacific area on the postal development in the near future. The meeting is also supposed to introduce effective suggestions for the success of the upcoming extraordinary general meeting of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) this September.
In the past few years, the Vietnamese government has improved the legal frame to create a more dynamic, transparent, and competitive market for the postal industry.
In the frame of the event, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong had a working session with the General Secretary of the APPU and a welcoming meeting with the Deputy Minister of Information and Communications cum President and General Director of the Iranian Postal.
In those two meetings, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong discussed possible participation of Vietnam in cooperative postal programs and projects.
Leaders of international organizations and countries highly appreciated all contributions as well as the active and effective participation of Vietnam in many common activities of the postal communities in the area and in the world.
Taking part in the APPU-EC 2018 are 122 delegates from 22 member countries of the APPU, including national management bodies, postal businesses, and related international organizations. In particular, the meeting has the honor to welcome the General Secretary of APPU and the General Director of the UPU.
APPU-EC 2018 will take place from June 25 to 29 of 2018.
