Anti-Smoking Media Campaign launched

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, the Ministry of Health, and World Lung Foundation launched an anti-smoking media campaign in Hanoi on February 22.

Graphic images and warnings of risks of smoking are to be printed on every cigarette box.
A photo, video and poster contest themed “Life Without Tobacco Smoke” will be open in social networks.

The country currently has more than 15 million adult smokers, 73.1 percent experience secondhand smoking at home and 55.9 percent experience secondhand smoking at work, according to the Ministry of Health. Smoking is one of the top causes of death in the world, killing 6 million people every year.
