Fresh cherry blossoms of Hanoi and other regions in the country have been brought for the event.
The festival will also feature traditional Japanese activities such as Japanese tea ceremony; performances of Japanese toy Kendama; Japanese chess Shogi, along with Vietnamese folk music performances, including ca tru (ceremonial singing) and hat xam (busking music often performed by blind artists); and the introduction of Japanese and Vietnamese art of flower arrangement.
Visitors will have also a chance to enjoy delicious dishes of the two countries and Japanese at over 20 display booths.
There will be a conference to promote investment and tourism co-operation between Hanoi and Japan on March 29; exchanges of health and education offering books and providing medical treatment to patients suffering from fatal diseases.
For the first time, the festival’s organization board will look for the Vietnamese cherry blossom goodwill ambassador at this year’s event. The selected goodwill ambassador who can speak Japanese and have knowledge of and interest in Japan must take responsibility for strengthening friendship exchanges between the two countries.
