This year’s entries include the award-winning Pao’s Story, Living in Fear, The White Silk Dress and Ha Noi, Ha Noi together with pictures yet to be screened widely like Ten, Moon at the Bottom of the Well and The Lieutenant.

There will also be movies by expatriate Vietnamese directors such as Buffalo Boy, Saigon Eclipse and The Rebel.

Besides screenings, the four-day filmfest will feature directors, producers and foreign experts attending conferences and giving talks on their pet subject.

The focus of these activities will be the current state of Vietnamese cinema and how to make it interesting to the public.

Unlike in previous years, when all the judges were Vietnamese, this time around the panel members will include experts from China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, France, the USA and elsewhere.
