Kumquat and peach blossom growers in Hanoi, who expected a good harvest this year, have had their hopes dashed by the unexpectedly warm weather two weeks ago.

Peach trees are already in full bloom well before Tet.
Nguyen Van Do said he has 300 peach trees but 200 are still unsold and in full blossom.
Many peach farmers are expected to suffer a big loss this year.
Kumquat growers are in the same boat.

Many kumquat fruits have ripened and fallen as a result of rain last month.
Rainfall in January ripened the kumquat fruits and they fell from the trees, Tran Van Duong of Tu Lien said.
The rain affected 120 out of the 300 trees in his garden, he said.
The farmers are extremely worried that if there are no fruits left, people who have already paid for the trees may demand compensation, price reduction, or even a refund.
They would have to persuade them to choose other trees instead of the ones they had reserved.
Many growers said the prices of kumquat and peach trees would be half last year’s.
