VNPT to divest from 50 businesses

Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) will have to withdraw its investment capital from 50 companies, funds and banks, according to a Government’s Decree on the group’s organization and operation regulations.

Those that VNPT will divest from comprise VNPT Land, Saigon Post and Telecommunications Services Corporation, Telecommunication Investment And Infrastructure Urban Joint Stock Company, VTC Telecom Company, Vietnam Investment Fund, Saigon Securities Investment Fund A2, Maritime Bank, Post and Telecommunication Finance Company Limited.
 
VNPT has 71 affiliated units, two subsidiaries including VNPT - Vinaphone and VNPT - Media that it owns 100 percent of chartered capital, five other subsidiaries and three public service units that are postal hospitals in Hanoi, HCMC and Hai Phong.
